What’s sad is that there have been black people in Ireland since the mid 16th Century. So there’s no real reason there can’t be any in this movie.
Why are people judging a movie about a girl’s journey IN SCOTLAND, made for kids, and putting it under the lens expecting an accurate portrayal of a late-period medieval period piece? It’s one thing if it’s just an interesting way to discuss a movie, but it’s been the discussions online as bits and pieces have leaked out. Kids are literally going to be just saying oooooh! pretty bouncy hair, cool arrows! Not I wonder what my 2nd grade teacher will think about the oppressive nature this movie is subjecting me and my peers to.
